Nicholas Prinse
Nicholas Prinse graduated from Kingston University in 2010 with a BSC in Property Planning, Development and Surveying. Fresh out of university, he worked for a year as an assistant surveyor before taking on the Head of Planning and Project Management role at a renewable energy company. In 2014 he set up Prinsegate, a surveying practice, and would later become chartered by the RICS in 2015. Nick, aka the Scorpion Surveyor, has since earned multiple accreditations to his name, including in project managing, building engineering, environmental engineering and many other disciplines. Over the period of a decade, he grew a one-man band surveying gig into a large-scale, multi-million pound business, employing close to 60 members of staff throughout the UK. And yet, a decade of repeated success was wiped out within the space of a few weeks. Prinsegate became suspended by the RICS in 2023, and most of its staff were made redundant overnight. Since then, Nick has reinvented the company, and since become an 'introducer' to help people find a freelance surveyor while retaining the core of its original staff. In short, Nick has been there and worn the T-shirt. He is comfortable enough to semi-retire and pursue other ventures. Nevertheless, he still enjoys surveying and more importantly loves teaching, which is why he is now deciding to pass the torch. In his course, Nick documents both his successes and failures to give you a well-rounded understanding of what works and what doesn't in the business of surveying.
