Meet Nicholas "The Scorpion Surveyor" Prinse

Nicholas Prinse
Nicholas Prinse gained previous work experience in real-estate and then graduated from Kingston University in 2010 with BSc (Hons) in Property Planning & Development (RICS-accredited) within the surveying field.
After working as an assistant surveyor in a prestigious property and surveying business, he became Head of Planning and Project Management at a renewable energy company for several years.
In 2014, he set up Prinsegate, first as a contracting company and then as a surveying practice after having worked for many other surveying practices and as a project management surveyor for Atkins Global.
He became chartered under RICS in 2015 and subsequently achieved other accreditations under CIOB, CMI, CABE, CIAT, SOE and FPWS (as relevant to project and construction management, general management, building engineering, operational/environmental engineering and other disciplines).
Over the period of a decade, he grew a one-man band surveying gig into a large-scale, multi-million pound business, employing close to 60 members of staff throughout the UK. Suddenly, it was all wiped out within the space of a few weeks. Both Nicholas and Prinsegate became (unfairly) suspended by RICS in 2023 for reasons detailed in the course and most of its staff were made redundant overnight.
Since then, Nicholas has reinvented his business activity and now helps other surveyors find work as well as start, grow and run their own practice whilst minimising the risks. Nicholas, AKA the “Scorpion Surveyor”, earned the nickname due to his aggressive drive for innovation and growth, which disrupted the industry and pierced its barriers to entry, which he teaches to other surveyors.
Having previously taken his surveying practice to the extreme and tested the limits, he can show you how to navigate the minefield. Despite having “been there and done that” with a surveying practice, he still enjoys surveying and loves teaching, which is why he has now decided to pass the torch. In this course, Nicholas documents both his successes and failures to give you a well-rounded understanding of what works and what doesn't in the business of surveying (something he wished someone had offered him when he first started out).
His hobbies and interests include film-making/acting, freemasonry/charity, magic, natural bodybuilding, martial arts, nutrition, etc. He’s also half Dutch and half Greek-Cypriot.
